Profiles tie the
values of accumulated Facts to data sources in order to provide
high-quality answers. Any adaptor to a structured or unstructured
data source can have any number of profiles. ISYL™ Profiles are data
records in the ISYL™ Metadata database that tell the ISYL™ Answer
Service where to get answers related to specific questions or
components of questions based on Fact values. The ISYL™ Profile
Editor allows Administrators to edit Profiles by adding or removing
linked values for specific Facts. |

The complexity of Profile
data structures is hidden from the users, so the Administrator has the
responsibility for inserting some data that is not visible to users. The
User Interface for the ISYL™ Profile Editor consists of an Adaptor Name,
Profile Name, and Fact Name/Value; see the illustration below. The left
side of the screen contains a list of existing Profiles and the buttons
needed to create new ones. The right side of the screen contains the
Facts and Values associated with a specific Profile. |
